I Wanted To Put Affiliate Banner Ads On My Word press Blog But Going Through My Back Office I Couldn’t Find Any Information On How To Do It.

So Putting On My Sherlock Holmes Hat Asluething I Went. A Google Search Came Up With A Ton Of Links. After Looking At A Few That Discussed A Very Complicated Process From WP Support As Well As Some Third Party Sites I Came Across Max Banner Ads Plug-in For Word Press.

It Seemed To Be A Very Robust Program And Looked Easy To Use.
The End Result Is Great; However I Did Run Into Some Confusing Implementation Directions.

From The Download And Installation Notes It Sounded To Me Like You Needed To Log Into Your Hosting Service And Install The Program Directly Into A New File In The WP-content–plug In Folder And Then Go To Your Word press Admin Section For Your Blog And Install The Program.

This Did Not Work For Me. I Probably Messed Something Up But Then I Decided To Go Straight To The Admin Section Of My Blog And Check Things Out. What I Found Was A Very Easy Implementation To Get The Program Installed.

These Directions Are For A WP Blog Hosted On Your Own Domain:

1. Log Into Your WP Admin Panel.

2. Look On The Left Side Of The Page Till You Find Plug-ins And Click On Add New.

3. In The Middle Of The Page That Opens You Will See Directions That Say Add Zip File From… Browse To Where You Saved The Max Banner Ad Zip File And Click Install. It Is Just That Easy To Get This Program Installed.

4. After Installation You Will Get A Message Directing You To Register And Verify Install By Responding To An Email From Max Banner Ads. Once That Is Done You Will Be Directed Back To Page Where You Will Need To Click On Verify And Register–This Opens Up The Program To Use.

When Program Opens It Seems Easy To Start Adding Banners But Don’t Do It. I Did And Banner Added Just Fine Into Sidebar I Thought-it Sure Looked Like It In The Manage Banners Portion Of The Max Banner Ads Module But When I Checked My Site It Wasn’t There.

To Correct This I Went To The How To Use Program Directions And Found Out That There Are Preliminary Steps That Must Be Done For The Banner To Show Up On The Blog.

If You Follow Them Step By Step Everything Works Fine But Again There Is Some Confusion Because The Directions Are For An Older Version Of WP That Direct You To The Design Page Which Doesn’t Exist In The Newest Version.

Go To The Appearance-widgets Box On The Left Panel Of Your WP Homepage And Open It. From There The Directions Work Exactly As Written.

After Making It Through Those Couple Of Areas That Were Murky To Me And Required Me To Figure Things Out I Used The Program To Load The Banner Ad You See To The Right With Ease.
